ISSS offers best practices information on OPT as a courtesy to international students under a Texas State University issued Form I-20. All information provided is not considered legal advice.

Applying for OPT is my application and my responsibility. I have reviewed the OPT Packet, OPT PowerPoint, I-765 template, passport photo requirements, and money order/check template.

I must check the USCIS website for the accurate Form I-765 edition and filing fee before mailing my application to USCIS.

I must sign my OPT requested I-20 and Form I-765 by hand before submitting to USCIS.

I am expected to compile my OPT application and submit the completed application to USCIS for temporary employment authorization on my own.
