Norouz, the traditional festival of Spring, is celebrated across the Middle East, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, and the Balkans. It marks the start of the new year, with the name "Norouz" coming from Avestan, meaning "new daylight". This holiday is meant to promote the values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families, as well as reconciliation and neighborliness.

Celebrate Norouz with us by learning about the festival's history and traditions, and sampling of Persian food!

This event is free of charge and open to the Texas State University Community.

Come join us for an International Potluck! This will be a great opportunity to learn about and sample various dishes from around the world.

Walk into a "mini world" and experience various dishes from around the world as you "journey through" different "continents", from North America to as far as Asia and Australia. Curious about why you should only eat with your right hand in one culture and not to ask for salt and pepper in another?

Register today and bring a dish from a country!

This event is free and open to the Texas State Community.
