Story Telling Through Images

Celebrate the beauty of cross-cultural exchange and the power of visual storytelling with the Story Telling Through Images Photo Contest, a captivating event taking place during International Education Week 2023 (IEW). International Education Week is a joint initiative from the State Department and Department of Education that celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange at U.S. colleges and schools.
 

International Students & Scholars may submit their photo entries beginning November 6, 2023 through November 17, 2023. The winners will be announced by November 28, 2023.

Photo Categories

  1. Memories from Home: Relive the warmth and nostalgia of your homeland, where every snapshot is a page from your personal storybook. In this category, entrants are encouraged to share images that evoke the emotions and memories of their native land, transcending geographical boundaries and touching the hearts of viewers.
  2. International at TXST: In this category, capture the international spirit of your academic community, highlighting the vibrancy and diversity that international students and scholars bring to campus life. Tell the story of how international education enriches the fabric of your university. 
  3. My Life in America: Embrace your life-changing journey in the United States. Whether it's your daily routine, your academic adventures, or your exploration of American culture, share your experiences through your lens. Convey your unique perspective as you navigate life in America, and reveal the beauty, challenges, and growth you've encountered.

Submission Guidelines

  • Entries must be original photos.
  • Photos must be high-quality resolution, at least 2 MB and up.
  • Each participant can choose to submit one photo or one photo per category.
  • Include a short caption with each image (150 words maximum) to narrate the story behind the photo.
  • Submissions will be accepted from Monday, November 6, 2023, through Friday, November 17, 2023.
