Airport Shuttle Service

Service provided to students at the beginning and end of the semester for drop off and pick up at the Austin Airport. Limited Dates offered

Bobcat Shuttle

Bobcat Shuttle system is in operation during all class days.
Free for students and scholars.

Nite Cats

Offers late-night transportation on campus. They provide transportation anywhere on the San Marcos campus.

Student Parking Services

Residence Hall Parking

Students living on campus in residence halls have two parking permit options. You may purchase a Green Residence Hall Permit or a Gold Mill Street/Residence Hall Permit.

Commuter Parking

Students living off campus may purchase the Purple Commuter/Perimeter Permit.

Bobcat Village Apartment Parking

Students living on campus in the Bobcat Village apartments may purchase a Silver Bobcat Village Apartment Permit.

Kerrville Bus Company

Weekend bus trips come equipped with on-board restrooms, reclining seats, and free Wi-Fi. Round trip fares start at $10 plus a transaction fee.

Spin Scooter

The dockless scooter share system lets you find and unlock a nearby scooter from your smartphone.

Bike

Biking is a good choice for students who live close to campus.
You must follow the rules of the road.
Be safe wear a helmet.

The Bus

San Marcos Transit is a fixed route service for the citizens of San Marcos and it's visitors. $1 each way, Free with TXST ID Card. 6am-6pm.

Greyhound Bus

The Greyhound Buses offers travel services to 3,800 stops across the US. Visit the San Marcos Greyhound Bus Station.

Rideshare/ CarPool

Interurban Bus

The Interurban Coach is a regional intercity route providing connections between Austin, Bastrop, Bertram Burnet, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, etc.

Train

More expensive option, but fun. The Train travels daily Between Chicago and San Antonio through major cities like Austin and Dallas.

Motorcycle Permits

Motorcycle parking (MC) is available in many lots and garages around campus. A motorcycle permit lets you park in any all-zone MC parking area.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available for students with a state-issued Persons with Disabilities Parking Placard or License Plate and a valid TXST permit.

Carpool Permits

Carpooling is a great option for two or more students to share a ride. Carpool permit parking is available in several locations on campus.

Apply Driver's License for International Visitors (F-1 and J-1)

International students and scholars who will be in the US for longer than 30 days and plan to drive a car should obtain a Texas Driver’s License at the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Access to a car, knowledge of Texas driving regulations, as well as testable driving skills are basic requirements for a driver’s license. You must provide your own vehicle when taking the driving test.
