Please Note: The International Office does not process Permanent Residency petitions for Texas State staff or students. It is recommended that these petitions be handled through a board-certified immigration attorney.

International Student & Scholar Advocates

• Staff members are sensitive to the special needs of internationals.
• Staff members act as a liaison with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), departments and offices at Texas State, and the San Marcos community.

International Outreach and Recruitment

• The IO facilitates international recruitment and provides assistance with international agreements.

• Provide and receive applications for the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG)
• Provide applications for Tuition Assistance for Mexican Students (TAMS)
• Provide applications for Good Neighbor scholarship
  Note: Distribution of the awards for the above is through Financial Aid & Scholarships.

• Advise academic departments about the type of non-immigrant status that is most appropriate for prospective professors and researchers.
